I’m back!

Holy moly!! It’s been forever and a freakin’ day since I’ve posted on this here blog. Lots of reasons why…but mostly because I got bored writing about the same coupon deals that a gabillion other sites were too. I also got sucked into the whole money side of the blogging world. I would post things just because they might have made me a few cents (no kidding)….not because I wanted to write about it and not because I thought it would benefit you guys. And that’s just dumb. 

Since I took a break from blogging, there’s been a whole bunch of newsworthy things going on in my world. Most notably, I added a new furry friend to my life. That’s her in the pic above….her name is Zoey and I adopted her from the Wire Fox Terrier Rescue group. I couldn’t have asked for a better pup….she’s so funny and loving and really well behaved. She’s happy sleeping at my feet while I work or bouncing around playing fetch.  I love her to bits & bits! :) 

I also,  just a week ago, found out my long running syndicated coupon column got the axe. This was sad…just because it was something I did for so long….but it was also okay. Only writing about coupon match-ups was getting boring for me…I missed “real” writing. So I would submit stories about fun, more interesting subjects that would run on the sites but for which I wouldn’t get paid. I felt a little poopy about that. 

After bumming for a few days (no one likes getting sacked), I decided to take this as a message from above that I should start doing things I love again. I’m quite the crafty fellah and I love creating things. I used to do that all the time…a friend and I even traveled to Florida, Chicago & New York to sell our wares. Chicos was even interested in maybe wholesaling our items. That was a really fun time…so why not take this opportunity to go back to that? Exactly! 

So that’s what I’m going to do! I’m so excited! My plan is to start out with a dog collar & accessory shop on Etsy called Zoey Leigh after my new best friend and my grandma. Once I save up enough dough for supplies & can get started, I want to donate at least 5% of my sales to the Wire Fox rescue where Zoey came from…I want to do everything I can to help that amazing organization. :)

But I’m also going to start blogging again daily here. Not how it was though….no more bending over backwards for a buck. Nope. Now I’m going to blog about what interests me. It might be a recipe, a DIY or crafty project, a freebie….or a great deal at Walgreens. There will still be coupons in every corner…but I don’t want my blog to be just another cookie cutter coupon blog. I want it to be all about who I am…and that’s a little bit couponing, a little bit craftin’, a whole lot of cute Zoey pics, and whatever else tickles my fancy. 

I hope you’ll join me back on my blogging journey. I missed you all! :)

Dollar Store DIY! Easter Egg Garland…sooo cute!

DIY projects like these make my singleton butt burn! Someday I’ll be the craftiest wife/mom/neighbor evah! But….until then….my single gal self will share it with y’all so you can be the craftiest wife/mom/neighbor on the block!

I saw TONS of eggs at the dollar store last week & this project would be awesome to use those for! I’d think you could make this guy for under $5! Be sure to check out the dollar store ribbon too….I get all my ribbon there—it’s awesome, posh satin & cheap-cheap-cheap! :)

Fold Plastic Bags Like This….Get Yo’ Organization OCD on! ;)

I just discovered THIS on Pinterest & had to share! I save all my plastic bags for my best friend to use when our dog does her biznaz. ;) Usually I give him a ginormo puffy bag filled with balled up bags. Not anymore!
